Losing a friend

My office manager gave his notice yesterday. I am happy for him as he leaves for what seems like a wonderful opportunity business and personal. I am sad because I am losing a friend. When he first started at our business I was the HR manager and he was an office assistant, that was 14 yrs ago. In 14 yrs we have both seen a lot of changes. He was at my wedding and we have shared many of lifes ups and downs. I wish him nothing but the best as both move on in life. Ultimately I hope anyone who leaves us leaves for a better opportunity. But it is painful to lose someone like him no matter the reason.
